# Armenia Visa for UAE Residents: The Passport Lane and the Dated Waiver (1 July 2026–1 July 2027)

UAE residents can enter Armenia visa-free under a temporary waiver that runs from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027 (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, mfa.am, read in a Google results capture on 21 July 2026). The durable route keys on your passport, not your Emirates ID — an eVisa at evisa.mfa.am costs USD 8 for 21 days or USD 39 for 120 days. Every agency page says "visa-free now." Almost none prints the expiry date, and none prints which passport gets which lane. That gap is why this page exists. ## Your passport sets the lane: visa-free, USD 8 eVisa, or visa on arrival

Your passport decides the durable route: an Emirati passport is visa-free for up to 180 days, and every other passport falls back to an eVisa at USD 8 for 21 days or USD 39 for 120 days (evisa.mfa.am, read 21 July 2026). The UAE-resident waiver sits on top of this as a temporary overlay. Strip the waiver away and the lane below is what remains.

The confusion across the search results is real. Peninsula Visa and Zain Armenia Tour answer the "UAE residents" query with the UAE-passport 180-day exemption. Agency pages answer it with "it's an e-visa." Both are half-right for different people. The clean split is by passport.

The eVisa portal has its own eligibility checker (evisa.mfa.am). Confirm your passport there before you pay. A visa on arrival is issued at the airport, not couriered in advance — so treat any agency that quotes "3 working days" for one as selling you an eVisa under a different name. Right now a temporary overlay covers all of these lanes at once: valid UAE residency waives the visa entirely until 1 July 2027. That overlay is the next section.

## The residency waiver is a dated window — 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027 — not a permanent rule

The waiver has an expiry date printed on it: mfa.am states UAE residents are "exempt from the visa requirement starting from July 1, 2026 to July 1, 2027." That is one year, then it is up for renewal. Read the timeline below before you assume it is permanent.

Two mechanisms overlap here, and the SERP blends them. One is the UAE-resident waiver, tied to your residency. The other is the 113-nationality exemption, tied to your passport, which armenian-lawyer.com (16 April 2026) dates to 1 January – 1 July 2026. If your passport is on that 113 list, your visa-free entry may have rested on the passport rule, not the residency rule, in the first half of 2026. After 1 July 2027 the resident waiver could lapse without the passport exemption returning. That is the date to re-check, and it is why this page is refreshed quarterly.

## 90 days or 180? The stay-limit contradiction, both sides with dates

The maximum stay is disputed: Gulf News (1 July 2026) says up to 180 days, while Khaleej Times launch coverage (11 June 2025) says up to 90 days within any period. A third source, a Facebook travel group answer read on 21 July 2026, says 90 days on a six-month Emirates ID. We do not average these. We print who says what.

The most likely reading is that the 2025 launch set 90 days and the 2026 extension raised it to 180. But "most likely" is not a figure you plan a five-month trip on. The 180-day number carries real weight only from the mfa.am exemption lists or the Armenian Embassy in Abu Dhabi (uae.mfa.am) and the Consulate General in Dubai (dubai.mfa.am). Confirm your limit there before you book a stay longer than 90 days. Note the separate 180-day figure that Peninsula Visa and Zain Armenia Tour quote belongs to Emirati passport holders, not residents — do not carry it across.

## The 6-month residency-validity rule, and who actually enforces it at the airport

Armenia's rule expects your UAE residency to hold at least six months of validity from your entry date, and the gate agent, not the immigration officer, is the one who checks it first. One traveller on r/armenia (21 May 2026) held an Indian passport and UAE residency valid to 18 November 2026 — about five months and twenty days of validity at a 25 May travel date, just under the line.

Their travel agency first said visa-free entry should be fine as a UAE resident. It then advised applying for an Armenia eVisa anyway, "just to avoid any possible issue at boarding," and noted eVisas usually clear in one to two days. That advice is the mechanism in plain sight. The airline check-in desk carries the fine liability if it boards a passenger Armenia later refuses. So it reads the six-month rule more strictly than the officer at Zvartnots might. A USD 8 eVisa is cheap boarding insurance when your residency validity is under six months at travel.

This is not a defect in your profile. It is a documented gate-side check that turns a thin residency margin into a boarding risk. Travel Saga's page (read 21 July 2026) states the six-month eligibility threshold as the general norm. If your Emirates ID has under six months to run when you fly, hold the eVisa in hand and stop the argument before it starts at the counter.

## USD 8 self-service or AED 799 through an agency — it is the same eVisa

The government eVisa costs USD 8 for 21 days; one UAE agency listed the identical eVisa at AED 799 — the same government product with a service markup. Before those two prices sit side by side, confirm they are the same thing. They are: a single Armenia eVisa. The gap is a fee for filling the form for you, not a better visa.

The consular fee sheet at the Armenian Embassy to the UAE (uae.mfa.am, read 21 July 2026) lists the 21-day visitor visa at AMD 3,000 / USD 8 / EUR 7 — the same USD 8, from the government's own hand. The agency turnaround spread, from 3 to 25 working days, is each agency's own service claim. It is not the government's processing time, so do not read it as one. Not right now. Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that residents of the UAE are exempt from the visa requirement from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027 (mfa.am, read 21 July 2026).
