Centre contracts rotate between VFS and TLScontact, and a page that names one brand undated goes stale the day the contract moves. Three different products get sold to you as “the France visa fee,” and only one is the government charge. The consulate short-stay fee is EUR 90 — the EU-wide standard Schengen rate since 11 June 2024 (children 6–12: EUR 45). Everything else is a service fee on top. So the timeline is real but wide, and the appointment slot — not the decision — is usually the longer wait. Route your slot-timing questions to the Dubai centre logistics; apply as early as the six-month window allows.

Now the one-year question, answered straight. France issues multi-entry visas with longer validity under Visa Code Article 24, and it rewards a specific profile: used prior Schengen visas, on-time returns, a clean record. That is exactly the applicant asking for it here — “I’ve held two Schengen visas before … Both were used and I returned on time — clean record … I’d love to get a multiple-entry visa with longer validity if my profile supports it” (r/SchengenVisa, 1 July 2026).
