30-Day vs 60-Day UAE Visit Visa: The Per-Day Maths, the Extension Fork and the Overstay Break-Even

The 60-day UAE visit visa costs about AED 300 more all-in than the 30-day, AED 950 against AED 650 through an Amer centre, yet works out roughly AED 6 a day cheaper. Every duration list on this search prints those prices side by side. None runs the division. The 98 organic results for 30 vs 60 day visit visa uae (SERP capture 21 July 2026) are duration lists with no per-day column, no extension total and no overstay line. This page carries all three.

The table first: 30-day vs 60-day on price, per-day cost, entries, extension rights and overstay exposure

The 60-day costs AED 950 all-in against AED 650 for the 30-day, or AED 372 against AED 272 in GDRFA fees only. Per day that flips: the 60-day is the cheaper of the two. Both durations here are the same single-entry tourist product, one at 30 days and one at 60, so the comparison is like for like. The four prices carry over from our fee page, checked 20 July 2026.

The full fee schedule, every duration and entry type, sits on our line-by-line UAE visit visa fee page. This page carries only the four anchor prices and the maths built on them.

Per-day maths: the 60-day costs about AED 300 more and roughly AED 6 a day less

The arithmetic no ranking page runs. AED 950 over 60 days is AED 15.83 a day. AED 650 over 30 days is AED 21.67 a day. So the longer visa is about AED 6 a day cheaper while costing AED 300 more in total. Put another way: the 60-day costs about 46% more up front and about 27% less per day of stay.

The government fees alone tell the same story: AED 6.20 a day for the 60-day against AED 9.07 for the 30-day, about 37% more up front for about 32% less per day. If you will use most of the days, the 60-day is the cheaper unit. If your trip is genuinely a fortnight, the 30-day wins and the spare days on a 60-day are money left on the counter. That division is the answer to “which duration is better value”, and no incumbent shows it.

Planning to stay longer: buy the 60 upfront, or take the 30 and extend — the roughly AED 800 gap

Buying the 60-day upfront runs about AED 800 cheaper than taking a 30-day and extending it. Extensions come 30 days at a time, not 60, up to a 120-day total-stay ceiling. And the price of an inside-country 30-day extension is the least settled number in this whole comparison, so here are all three figures, dated, not averaged.

  • AED 750 — HHS Lawyers, via the ICP smart app, January 2025.
  • AED 1,100 — amer247, on-arrival extension, VAT included.
  • AED 1,150 — a computed stack in the Economic Times, 3 December 2025 (AED 600 base, AED 30 VAT, AED 500 inside-UAE processing, AED 10 Knowledge Dirham, AED 10 Innovation Dirham).

The amer247 counter price and the Economic Times stack back each other up within AED 50; the AED 750 figure sits well below both. Take the corroborated pair. A 30-day visa at about AED 650 plus one extension at AED 1,100 to AED 1,150 comes to roughly AED 1,750 to AED 1,800 for the same 60 days the upfront visa gives for about AED 950. That is the roughly AED 800 you pay for deciding late. The mechanics and current pricing sit on how UAE visit-visa extensions work.

Overstay maths: at AED 50 a day, six days of fines erase the whole saving

Overstay runs at AED 50 a day (u.ae, visa fees and fines, checked 20 July 2026), so the AED 300 all-in price gap between the two visas equals exactly six fine-days. Undershoot a 30-day visa by six days rather than buy the 60-day, and you have spent the saving and bought stress with it. On the government fees alone the AED 100 gap is just two fine-days.

Do not plan on a waiver holding. A traveller wrote that the overstay-fine waiver he expected to carry him to departure had reversed on him: “I called GDRFA and they said the fines got updated on May 13 for everyone but they are not sure what the reason was” (r/dubai, posted May 2026). Fines that seemed forgiven came back retroactively, with no published reason. Plan on the meter, not on the grace you read about last month. How overstay fines are calculated and cleared, and the 2026 waiver timeline, sit on the overstay-fine page; check your balance on the ICP fines enquiry before you book a flight out.

The other 60 days: validity-to-enter is not length-of-stay

Two different clocks hide under one number. One applicant paid USD 370 through an online agent, applied months before an April trip, and had the application held because, in the agent’s words, “the visa is valid only for 60 days from the date of issuance” (r/UAE, 11 January 2026). That 60 days is the window to enter the country. It is not the time you may stay once you land. Read as a stay allowance it looks like a bargain 60-day visa; it is nothing of the sort.

So separate them. The stay clock, 30 or 60 days, starts when you arrive. The validity clock, the window to make that arrival, starts at issue and is why applying far too early gets your file parked. We could not find the exact entry-window length printed on any GDRFA or ICP service card we checked, so treat the “60 days from issuance” above as one agent’s statement to one applicant, dated, not a rule we verified on a government card.

When neither is the answer: 90-day durations, multiple entry, and the 5-year option

If 60 days is not enough, three other products exist and each is its own card. The ICP service card states a visa can be issued for 30, 60 or 90 days depending on the duration selected; published 90-day single-entry prices ran from AED 686.75 at Amer Bab Al Falah to AED 1,900 at amer247 on 20 July 2026, two GDRFA-partner centres pricing different government products. Multiple-entry versions exist at every duration and cost more. For frequent trips there is the 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa, a separate track with its own insurance and deposit rules.

“60-day” is also not one thing. The National reported a new Filipino visa-on-arrival scheme (via r/menajobs, 24 June 2026, effective 25 June): a 14-day arrival visa for Dh100 that is extendable once, or a 60-day arrival visa for Dh250 that is non-extendable. Same country, same “60-day” label, opposite extension rights from the prepaid visit visa in the table above. Which arrival products your passport unlocks sits on the UAE visa-on-arrival page. Emirates ranks first for this search with its pre-arranged UAE visa for connecting passengers (SERP capture 21 July 2026), an airline channel for its flyers, not a different government fee.

How this page was verified. The four anchor prices carry over from our fee page, captured on 20 July 2026 from the GDRFA and ICP service cards and the amer247 price list. We did not re-open those cards for this page; the per-day and break-even figures are our arithmetic on them. The three extension figures are dated third-party reports (HHS Lawyers, January 2025; amer247; Economic Times, 3 December 2025), printed all three and never averaged. The AED 50-a-day overstay rate is from u.ae's visa fees and fines page, checked 20 July 2026. The overstay reversal and the USD 370 held application are dated Reddit posts, quoted as such. The SERP shape is our capture of 21 July 2026. Our sourcing rules and correction log live at editorial policy.

Questions people ask about the 30-day and 60-day UAE visit visa

Is there a 30 day visit visa for UAE?
Yes. GDRFA Dubai publishes a 30-day single-entry tourist visa at AED 272 in government fees, and an Amer centre sells the same trip all-in at AED 650, both carried from our fee page checked 20 July 2026. Watch the second clock, an agent told one applicant the visa was valid only 60 days from the date of issuance, which is the window to enter, not the length of stay.
How long does it take to get a 60 day visit visa for UAE?
No GDRFA or ICP service card we checked publishes a processing time. The duration you pick does not change it, a 60-day and a 30-day are the same single-entry product filed the same way. Agencies sell an express lane, priced on our fee page at a flat AED 100 add-on at amer247, checked 20 July 2026, not a percentage.
What is the price difference between the 30 and 60 day UAE visit visa?
About AED 300 all-in, AED 950 for the 60-day against AED 650 for the 30-day through an Amer centre, or AED 100 in GDRFA fees only, AED 372 against AED 272, both carried from our fee page checked 20 July 2026. Per day the 60-day is the cheaper of the two, roughly AED 15.8 against AED 21.7 all-in.
How to stay in Dubai longer than 30 days?
Buy the 60-day visa upfront rather than take a 30-day and extend it. Extensions come 30 days at a time to a 120-day ceiling, and an inside-country 30-day extension is reported at AED 750 (HHS Lawyers, ICP smart app, January 2025), AED 1,100 (amer247) and a AED 1,150 computed stack (Economic Times, 3 December 2025). A 30-day plus one extension runs about AED 1,750, against roughly AED 950 for the 60-day bought upfront.
Is a 90 day tourist visa available in the UAE?
Yes. The ICP service card states a visa can be issued for 30, 60 or 90 days depending on the duration selected. Published 90-day single-entry prices ran from AED 686.75 at Amer Bab Al Falah to AED 1,900 at amer247 on 20 July 2026, two GDRFA-partner centres quoting different government products.
