The honest position: what is confirmed, what is rumour, and the date we checked

Now the rumour. A Pakistani resident wrote on r/UAE in June 2026: “He is trying to get job but everyone is saying, visas for Pakistanis are closed.” Read the whole post. His friend was fired. He has 15 days of grace period left. He is hunting for work. So the “closed” fear is about work permits and employment visas after a job loss. That is a different product from a visit visa.

We found no official UAE notice of a visit-visa ban on Pakistani nationals on 20 July 2026. Compare like with like before you panic. What it actually checks is not published anywhere we could open. So we will not name it. Treat it as a real gate, not a formality. The online route is genuinely blocked for a Pakistani passport. Re-run it through a person. The date the status was last verified is 20 July 2026, and a rule like this can move within a week.

One more split. You file from one of two sides. An outside-country application starts in Pakistan; the visa is issued before travel; you enter on it. That profile clears the sponsor requirement. The salary certificate proves the floor. The Ejari proves the address. It does not, on its own, prove the link. That link is the next section’s problem.

Who can act as sponsor is narrower than people expect. The form lists spouse, children, parents and siblings. Each has its own attested document. A friend or a partner is not on the list. In one r/askdubai case, GDRFA asked “what’s the proof of relationship with the host?” about a non-family host. No document closes that. The document pack that differs from every other passport

One document is asked of a Pakistani passport and not an Indian one. amer247’s sponsored-visit-visa form states it plainly, checked 20 July 2026: “Applicant National ID Required for Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran & Iraq Nationality.” So you add your Pakistani National ID to the passport.

That means the CNIC, or the NICOP for overseas Pakistanis, on top of the passport. An applicant on an Indian, Filipino or most other passports is not asked for it on the same form. This is the sharpest difference between this fork and the Indian route.

The rest of the sponsored pack is common to the passport. List it anyway, because a missing attestation reads as a silent refusal:

• Passport copy, valid at least 6 months
• One digital studio photo
• Sponsor’s original Emirates ID, plus residence-visa and passport copies
• The relationship document, attested by UAE MOFA and translated into Arabic — a birth certificate for a parent or child, a marriage certificate for a spouse
• Sponsor’s salary certificate, or a labour contract with the ministry stamp
• If the mother sponsors: an NOC from the father through Dubai Court, or his MOFA-attested death certificate

That attested certificate is your proof of relationship to the sponsor. A Pakistani birth or marriage certificate needs attestation before UAE MOFA accepts it. No government card we checked carries it. It sits on the agency invoice, so ask which receipt it appears on.

One warning for this section. Do not paste an AI-written invitation or reason-for-visit letter. A Schengen applicant in this corpus was refused after an officer said the itinerary “looked template like” — he had used ChatGPT to format it. Visa desks now spot generated documents. A letter that reads as AI counts against the file. Write it plainly, in your own words.

Hotel booking, return ticket, funds: what is actually verified

For the tourist route, two documents are non-negotiable. amer247 states it on every tourist form, checked 20 July 2026: travellers submit a hotel reservation and a ticket copy with the application. An Indian applicant on a visa on arrival is asked for neither up front.

So the hotel booking confirmation and the confirmed return ticket are part of the file, not something shown later at the gate. That answers which passports need a hotel booking and a return ticket. It is the same twelve on the verify list above.

Proof of funds is the fuzzy one. No source we checked on 20 July 2026 prints a fixed balance for a UAE tourist visa on a Pakistani passport. Staff often ask for a recent bank statement. The amer247 forms set no minimum. We will not invent one. If a centre quotes a figure, ask which government card sets it. A number with no card behind it is the centre’s own rule, not the state’s.

Realistic timeline, with dates, including the slower path

Plan for 2-4 days on the standard path, and longer once the check is added. amer247’s published windows, checked 20 July 2026: a 30-day tourist visa in up to 2-4 days, express in up to 24 hours, a 58-day window to enter, and a 30-day stay from entry.

• Enter any time inside the 58-day validity
• Stay up to 30 days from the day you enter

The slower path is the honest one for this passport:

• Day 0 to unknown — the check runs; no source prints its length
• Then the 2-4 days of normal processing begin
• Net effect: the standard window plus an extended processing window nobody can date

Do not book a non-refundable ticket around a 2-day guess. The check is the part nobody can date for you. It sits at the front of the queue, not the back.

If it is refused: the next concrete step

A refusal without a stated reason is common here, and the first move is not to re-file. One traveller had his visit visa rejected by his agency at Sharjah airport, with no mark against him and no reason given. Re-filing the same form elsewhere the same day, which the community does often, usually repeats the result at a second cost.

Work it in order:

1. Ask the centre for the rejection reference and any ground it logged — even a code.
2. Check the sponsor side first. Most sponsored refusals trace to a sponsor-side gap, not to the visitor: salary below the floor, an inactive sponsorship file, or an un-attested document.
3. Re-file through a centre that runs the manual check up front. The blocked online route is the likely failure point for this passport.
4. Only then change anything on the applicant’s own file.
