Saudi Visa From the UAE 2026: Your Residence Qualifies You — and the Tourist eVisa Already Covers Umrah
Entering Saudi Arabia from the UAE runs on your residence, not just your passport. Residents of a GCC country — which includes anyone holding a UAE residence permit — are eligible to apply for the Saudi tourist eVisa, issued through the KSA Visa platform and delivered by email.
That is the opposite of how Türkiye treats the same document, and the contrast is worth holding onto: the UAE residence that does nothing for a Turkish e-Visa is the thing that qualifies you here.
The second surprise is what the tourist visa already permits.

The tourist visa already covers Umrah
The visit visa for tourism permits performing Umrah during the non-Hajj season, alongside tourism, attending events and visiting family or friends.
This is the single most useful thing to know before you start an application, because the common assumption — that Umrah requires its own dedicated visa product — sends people to the wrong platform first and costs them time rather than money.
Read the qualifier, though. The permission is for the non-Hajj season. During Hajj season the route is different, and Nusuk is where that is handled. If your travel dates sit anywhere near the Hajj window, confirm the position for those exact dates before you book, because a tourist visa issued in one season does not carry a promise about another. Single entry or multiple entry
The choice is about stay length, not just about how many trips you plan.
A single-entry visa allows a stay of up to one month. A multiple-entry visa allows a stay of up to three months. These are different products with different limits, and the longer stay comes attached to the multi-entry option rather than being available separately.
Pick by intended stay. A resident planning one three-week trip does not need multiple entry. A resident who will cross back and forth for family or business over a season is buying the stay length as much as the re-entry right.
How the application actually runs
The tourist eVisa is issued through the KSA Visa platform and arrives by email. The state describes it as obtainable instantly.
Beyond the eVisa, Saudi Arabia also runs visa-on-arrival at the passport office for eligible travellers, e-kiosks at airports, and applications through Saudi embassies and consulates abroad. For a UAE resident with time before travel, the online route is the straightforward one — the alternatives exist mainly for travellers who did not or could not apply in advance.
Apply on the official platform. Saudi visas attract a large volume of intermediary sites that charge a markup for the same form, and some collect passport data along the way.
What we could not confirm
Two things you may be looking for are not stated on the pages we read, and we would rather say so than guess.
The fee. The published pages we read on 29 July 2026 did not carry a current figure for the tourist eVisa. Prices for this visa have moved more than once, and any number we printed would be a number from somewhere else.
Conditions attached to GCC residence. The eligibility statement is that GCC residents may apply. Whether a minimum remaining validity on your UAE residence applies, or any profession-based condition, is not something the pages we read set out. Historically this route has carried conditions of that shape, so treat “I am a UAE resident” as the start of the check, not the end of it.
Both are questions the application form itself answers, because it validates your specific document as you go. Start there rather than from a summary — including this one.
Where UAE residents get this wrong
Three assumptions cause most of the wasted effort.
Going to Nusuk for a normal Umrah trip. Outside Hajj season the tourist eVisa already permits Umrah. Nusuk is the right platform for Hajj and for structured packages, not a mandatory first stop for every pilgrimage.
Buying single entry for a six-week stay. The one-month limit is a stay limit, not a validity limit. It does not stretch because the visa is still valid.
Assuming the residence permit is sufficient on its own. It establishes eligibility to apply. It is not an entry document, and it does not remove the application.

How to verify this before you book
Saudi visa policy has changed repeatedly in recent years, and the platform is the authority on your case.
Open KSA Visa, select the visa type that matches your purpose, and read the conditions the platform returns for your nationality and residence combination — that output governs. For pilgrimage, start at Nusuk. The national portal’s visa and tourism section is the government’s own index into both.
